| Hi ladies, I am just starting out with SHALI. I am very excited and even though I am very busy I believe it is very workable to get my business going. I am going to try to start out with free advertising. I am enjoying it really. I posted in the meet and greet thread so you can read a little about me there. Good luck on getting that laptop. Because of so much other stuff going on in my life right now I decided not to go for it - I am organizing getting my mom in an assisted living facility this weekend - BUT next week WATCH OUT!!! :D |

| Welcome aboard Marlys!! Besides free ads, are you also attempting to work your warm market, or are you looking into purchasing leads to talk to? I understand you homeschool, so I don't know how that affects your time for cold calls. |

| So far I am just going to work free advertising. Due to the fact that I am sooooo busy with schooling I am -on purpose- starting out slowly. I worked another business and spent lots of money :evil: on leads to no avail believe it or not so I have soured a bit on buying leads. I am enjoying this type of advertising so far. |

| Free ads is a great way to start. I got so much traffic to my site when I started placing ads online. That was in January, and I had already been with SHALI for 7 months. In those first 7 months I had like 200 hits to my site, but within a month of placing online ads I had nearly 300 hits in that month! And a few extra inquiries. Unfortunately, none of those leads enrolled. |

| Welcome aboard! Yes, Kira and I utilize free advertising to the fullest. We run into each other everywhere. I've spent lots on leads that didn't work out. The best lead is someone requesting information from your website. Warm market is a great way to start building. If you need help with anything, let me know. | I keep looking for new sites to place ads on, but it seems like nearly every ad now is from someone that is with Melaleuca. either the momteam, momexecs, etc. I sometimes wonder how saturated the free ad boards are really from all of us, and I occasionally feel like there is too much competition. But posting does work and does help bring more traffic. If you look in the members area, we have a great website tracker, and it will show you how many of the visits are repeat visits! It also will help you determine which area you are posting gives you teh most traffic. I look every month or so to adjust my posting frequency based on the report. You should try and take a look at yours Marlys when you have been posting for about a month. If you need any help with figuring out the tracker, let me know! |

| Thanks you two for your responses. I also wonder about the saturation of all the adds but if you think about it the internet is HUGE and I really think it would be impossible to saturate the free advertising market. I keep thinking that there just has to be places out there that if I could just find it I would find my niche (did I spell that correctly?). I guess that is what keeps me excited about free advertising - the mystery!! |

| Absolutely! The internet grows daily. Many new websites added. During an advertising training call I listened to once, it was advised adding to your advertising list daily. Which I do. I have a MicroSoft Word list with all the places I advertise in for free. When I find a new place, I add it alphabetically and place an * on the right. I later return to that site and register so I may advertise on it. It is just a matter of organizing yourself so you can use your time efficiently. :D |
