| I am trying out my hosts "ad free". This is where no google ads appear at the top or bottom on the portal or any forum page. My thought behind this - is that it is less distracting and presents a more professional looking site. - Buddy - |

I do not like google ads, I find them annoying when trying to read posts so I vote yes get rid of them.
But if they are away for you to make money to keep site up them keep them. |

Agreed, they are a pain, but if you're making a decent amount of money from them then keep them. Could you give us the option of not seeing them? I'm pretty sure I had that option on a fitness site I frequent. We were able to opt out of seeing the google ads. |

I have removed them-
And yes some sites offer the option to individual members- but there is a fee involved- so it would be less expensive for me to just do it . I don't make any money off of them- that is why I have to pay to have them removed. The only revenue that I make from this forum come from the few ads on the front page and the occassional donation. All of which I am grateful for as this is my income from the internet. And this money helps with the cost of advertising for this site with paid ads and promotional services and now with the possibility of continued ad-free. - Buddy - |

Hi Buddy,
I really don't think they are that intrusive.... It's not as if they're in your face floating or pop up ads. Any forum I've been to have them... seems to be the norm these days. A guy's got to make some money... Good on you.

Since they belong to the host- he makes money either way-- if I leave them up they get click revenue- and if I remove them they get my money for ad-free.
