When Americans gather to celebrate this Thanksgiving holiday:(from rasmussenreports.com)
81% will have the traditional turkey as their centerpiece meal.
6% say ham.
85% of Americans say they have a reason to give thanks.
9% report no compelling reason to be thankful.
46% rate Thanksgiving as one of our most important national holidays.
6% say it is one of the least important.
43% say it ranks somewhere in between.
42% will enjoy their Thanksgiving meals at home
41% will go to a relatives home.
8 % say they will share their feast with their friends
5% will skip cooking and visiting all together by dining at a restaurant.
47% say they will eat too much.
42% say they won't overindulge.
60% of men say they plan to watch football as part of their plans
40% of women said they would be watching
12% will attend a Thanksgiving parade
80% say they will not
Regardless of how they plan to fill their day, a majority of the respondents will enjoy Thanksgiving as a day of rest, Only 12% say they will have to work on the holiday; 81% will enjoy a work-free day.

This was really interesting..but I can't help but think that these 42%(42% say they won't overindulge) may be fibbing :lol:
