Have a fun and safe holiday, and yes, my turkey, one of those that we raised this year, is done. All went well with the cooking, didn't seem to take as long as they say, but maybe cuz it was fresh, hopefully it will taste as good as it looks. Happy Thanksgiving.

That is really something.. having a turkey that you actually raised..is this the first time? I would love to know how it turned out. Buddy

The turkey turned out great. We do have lots of leftovers, so I'm sure I'll be making turkey and noodles for supper today.
Yes, this was our first time raising turkeys, we had 10 of them, the 3 males weigh 33+ pounds a piece, don't have a clue how we will get them in a pan. (i can't even lift them out of the freezer, there are huge!) We are thinking of possibly smoking one in the smoker. That will probably take 15 hours!
Don't know if we'll do it again next year or not, we don't make any money on them, and actually lose, as they eat so much, plus they were kinda mean, they would chase you, so I tried to get out of doing chores as much as I could.
Happy Friday.

We have slowly barbecued one before. It was really good, very moist. Buddy

But imagine how long a 33lb turkey would take? Also, our smoker is tall and round, so I am thinking we'll have to rig something up so the turkey is standing up, because I think it is too big to lay down, we'll see.
